Session Details

  • The content and format will be identical to Saturday, April 7th's Anesthesia Lecture & Lab for Technicians. 

Veterinary Health Care Team of Arizona's Technicians Community invites technicians to participate in our Anesthesia Lecture and Lab.

  • Breakfast and refreshment breaks will be served.
  • Come prepared to assist with surgeries (wear your scrubs or bring them with you to change into).
  • Gloves will be provided. If you wear an unusual size or have certain allergies please notify the VHCTAz so that arrangements can be made in advance.
  • The patients for the wet lab will be puppies & kittens from Maricopa County Animal Care and Control.
  • All animals treated during the lab will be up for adoption after recovery.

Limited space available. Registration is open based on first come, first served availability.

Adolf K. Maas, DVM, DABVP (R&A), CertAqV.

Dr. Adolf Maas practices as a consulting and exotic/zoo animal veterinarian, after having worked at many locations in the Midwest and Eastern United States. Originally from the Seattle area, he attended the University of Washington graduate school and University of Wisconsin School of Veterinary Medicine. Since then, he has worked at and received advanced training at a number of zoos and wildlife facilities, and was a clinician at the Avian and Exotic Animal Clinic (Indianapolis, Indiana) and the Indianapolis Veterinary Referral Center, one of the highest ranked referral and specialty facilities in the Midwest. Additionally, he was the owner of Exotic and Companion Animal Veterinary Services, a mobile exotics-only practice in Indiana, and was the founder, owner and director of the Center for Bird and Exotic Animal Medicine, one of the three largest exotic-animal-only facilities in the U.S., located in the suburban Seattle area. Over the last fifteen years, he has co-authored a number of research articles and book chapters. In 2011 Dr. Maas became one of the first ABVP board certified veterinarians in Reptile and Amphibian medicine, and in 2014 obtained Certified Aquatics Veterinarian status. Currently, Dr. Maas is providing current “Best Practices” domestic animal anesthesia teaching and consultation services via Jurox, Inc., and provides medical, surgical and anesthesia consulting services to several zoos, collection facilities and wildlife NGOs through ZooVet Consulting, PLLC.





Cancellation Policy: Cancellations before 3-26-18 will receive refunds in full. No-shows or cancellations received after 3-26-18 will be charged the full amount.

Late Registration Policy: Registrations received on or after April 2, 2018 will be charged a $20 late registration processing fee.
