Celebrate National Day of the Horse in December
Monday, November 30, 2015
PHOENIX – November 30, 2015 – In observance of National Day of the Horse on December 13, the Arizona Veterinary Medical Association (AzVMA) encourages a dialog about the importance of horses in our culture, the importance of humane treatment of both domestic and wild horses, and the physical and emotional benefits of owning horses.
“This is a day to honor all equines, domestic and wild, and encourage Americans to be mindful of the contribution horses have had on our history and economy, and honor the beauty of their majestic character. This is a time to recognize the importance horses have had on the security, economy, recreation, and heritage of not only the United States, but the world,” says Dr. Adriana Stinnett, DVM, of Cave Creek.
In 2004, Congress designated December 13th as National Day of the Horse to honor the contributions horses have made to our country’s history, economy and national character.
