One Health Day to Be Celebrated Nov. 3
Wednesday, June 22, 2016
One Health Day, part of an international campaign designed to bring attention around the world to the need for one Health interactions, will be celebrated on November 3. The event is being coordinated by the One Health Commission, the One Health Initiative, and the One Health Platform Foundation.
The One Health Day campaign is designed to engage as many individuals as possible from as many arenas as possible in One Health education and awareness events and to generate an inspiring array of projects worldwide. Nearly 75 percent of all emerging human infectious diseases in the past three decades originated in animals.
The One Health community is inviting veterinarians, medical doctors, public health practitioners, and those involved in environmental sciences/environmental health to join forces and create events to be held on and around One Health Day to promote One Health. There is even a competition for students.
For additional information, or to register events, go to the One Health Day website, at www.onehealthcommission.org.
