Midwestern University to Host College of Veterinary Medicine Open House

GLENDALE, Arizona – Midwestern University, home of Arizona’s only veterinary school, is offering a free behind-the-scenes look at how the University is caring for Arizona’s animals and training tomorrow’s veterinarians.

The College of Veterinary Medicine at Midwestern’s Glendale Campus at 59th Avenue and Utopia Road will host an open house on Saturday, September 16, 2017 from 9:00am to 3:00pm. Everyone from pet owners to ranchers to aspiring veterinarians are welcome to attend with their families to see the future of animal healthcare in Arizona. Expert faculty and veterinary students will be on hand to answer questions and showcase the College’s veterinary clinics and facilities. Over 25 informative booths and exhibits will be available for the public.

Attendees will be treated to facility tours of the state-of-the-art Companion Animal Clinic, Equine and Bovine Center, and Diagnostic Pathology Center. Families will be able to interact with animals, see a simulated cow birth, discover how pathology and forensics can help deter animal abuse and treat disease, and much more. Interested attendees can also learn about a career in veterinary medicine and opportunities available to Midwestern University graduates, such as maintaining a healthy food supply, researching and controlling infectious diseases, and advancing the science of animal health in connection with other healthcare disciplines.
