Veterinary Licensure & Technician Certification Information

For information about obtaining or renewing veterinary licenses or veterinary technician certifications visit the Arizona State Veterinary Medical Examining Board's licensing page or call 602-364-1738.

AzVMA's Arizona Academy of Veterinary Practice

The Arizona Academy is comprised of a select group of Arizona veterinarians that go above and beyond the state requirements for licensure by completing a rigorous series of continuing education courses. The state requires all veterinarians to complete 20 hours of continuing education in a two-year period to qualify for licensing. However, AzVMA Academy Members have completed at least 50 hours in one-year if they are a small animal veterinarian and at least 40 hours in one-year if they are a large animal veterinarian.
