Mentorship Program

YLAC is responsible for the administering of AzVMA's mentorship program. AzVMA has partnered with Midwestern University (MWU) to pair veterinarians with students at the College of Veterinary Medicine at MWU, based on their similar field of interest. This program has been created to offer students guidance through their veterinary program and into their field of study.

Quality CE Workshops

Enlisting the feedback of students, we provide continuing education workshops to provide out-of-classroom education in an effort to assist preparing them for their careers.

Community Outreach Efforts

YLAC conducts outreach to the public about the importance of regular veterinary care for pets. Volunteers distribute Pet Resource Directories at community fairs and events of AzVMA member-hospitals and clinics which also contains information on emergency and mobile clinics, as well as frequently asked questions and answers about basic animal care and Arizona-specific diseases and conditions.

YLAC Online Member Portal

The YLAC Online Portal functions as a resource to provide a professional peer support to newly licensed veterinarians, an online network to support mentors and mentees apart of the Mentorship Program, a gateway of communication about veterinary news & alerts, announcements on upcoming CE events, and an opportunity to serve the local community through public outreach opportunities.
